I’ve had a passive interest in web 2.0 related technologies recently. I don’t really have a use for the technology at work or elsewhere (yet), but it has been interesting browsing around to see what is out there. I’ve run into a few interesting sites that have potential.
Here are a few that I ran into:
- Netvibes I can’t remember where I first found this, or I would link back there. This is a pretty sweet interface for a start page. I like the way they expand the content block when you click on a link.
- Protopage This looks similar to netvibes. I haven’t played around with it at all though.
- Ning Create your own social software. Cool idea.
- Remember the milk Hmmm… Ever forget something? Check this out.
My passive approach to seeing what is out there is to occasionally check the del.icio.us popular/web2.0 tag. I’ve also been searching in technorati for web2.0 to see what is happening in the blogsphere.
On another front, since I’m fairly new to blogging, I started looking at some resources for starting up a blog. Check out Rajesh’s article on the blogger starter checklist. I started on a few of his suggestions. One of the really cool ones is number 16 regarding feedmap. This service allows you to geo-code your blog. It will provide you with a small map that you can plug into your blog. See the right hand panel. There is also a google version in the development (not by google though). He has a lot of other good suggestions.

Hi Damon - Glad to hear you like the Ning idea!!
