Movie Night
Alice and I are headed to see The Departed tonight at the Mercado. We don’t go to the movies that often. Lately (since I ran out of my $5.50 coupons), we only go when we have a free pass. Movies these days are too expense. The price/performance ratio for most movies just doesn’t justify the cost at ~$10 each.
Since it is a holiday week and Alice has two free passes, we thought we would check something out. After browsing the list on Yahoo!, we found The Departed. The plot sounded suspenseful and intense which drew me in. The movie is a remake of a Hong Kong movie called Infernal Affairs. I think I like the Hong Kong title better.
It also came up pretty fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. Here is the review. A 92% rating is pretty good.
We also have Born Into Brothels in the queue for this weekend. I’ve heard great things about this movie. It also came up quite fresh at 96%. We’re borrowing that DVD from Ryan.
